Blogroll And Other News
Tuesday, February 13th, 2007Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything of real value. There’s lots to talk about, so here we go!
Most importantly, my contract with Mindblossom has ended, and I am now full time as of February 1st, which has definitely been the highlight of my year so far. I am very happy, and I absolutely love my job, and the people I work with. Best of all, I get to play with all the cool toys like AJAX. Good times!
I am working on automating my blog roll. Right now, all my favorite links are on a static page, which is not very easy to update, and doesn’t use WordPress to its full potential. So, if you added me to your blogroll and I haven’t returned the favour, don’t be offended, I will be adding you in the coming days.
In the matter of my camera being stolen (and subsequently returned), the police have decided NOT to lay charges against the individual because he apologized (to the police) for what he did, and was cautioned against taking other people’s items. I personally did not get an apology from him so it’s as though no apology was made. I’m not going to flog a dead horse anymore, obviously the police are not interested in pursuing the matter. There are greater forces at work in this matter, what those are, I think I know, but until I can prove it, no more will be said. If you would like to discuss the matter further “offline”, feel free to contact me.
Speaking of the police, Toronto’s (and CityNews’) favorite counterfeit eyeglass frame store, King West Optical Adam Paul & Associates Opticians has yet again made the news, this time by assaulting CityNews reporter Peter Silverman, throwing a snowball at a TTC Inspector (ha!) and taunting the police. If you don’t know about this shady businessman (and who doesn’t), he’s been featured on CityNews numerous times now, including the most recent incident. Previous reports about this business are linked:

The Story Behind The Attack
The video of the attack was the most popular video on CNN over the weekend, and the attack on this 75 year old reporter has opened floodgates of emotional support for Toronto’s favorite reporter. The Youtube video (slightly longer with more fight scenes) has also garnered much attention, and you could tell that even Anderson Cooper was impressed with Silverman’s bravado when taking on this no-good punk Plimmer. Way to go Silverman! You rock!
Apart from that, I’ve been busy at work building websites, doing my CSS thing. I’ve started on a new project, which should be ready to go in about 2 weeks (I’m under a very aggressive timetable for this one). More details soon!!!
