About
Justin Kozuch is a top-level web designer based in Toronto, specializing in User Interface Design.
Consistently building clean, functional, and visually alluring interfaces that comply with the latest web standard is his style. Web Standards are his life. Justin is more passionate about using Web Standards, promoting Web Standards, and following the Web Standard’s “movement”, than anything else in the world. Always considerate of the numerous web-browsing platforms that are available today, Justin’s been around the block. To him there is nothing more personally and professionally fulfilling than creating something that is both functional and beautiful. numerous web-browsing platforms that are available today.
Coding every site by hand using properly-written XHTML and CSS with a time tested recipe. Asking for a sprinkle of JavaScript for interactivity, a dash of Usability, pour on Accessibility and Web Standards for consistency, mix with WordPress, and bake for 25 min on high. Serve with side of Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Aptana which accent the flavor. Cool before serving. Enjoy.
Among his online interests you will find AJAX, CSS, and tons of well-written XHTML. Consuming the latest in Web Standards, and surfing CSS galleries for inspiration is where you’ll see him most. Away from the monitor, you can find him indulging in American and Canadian Military history books (primarily World War 2), and racing around on my pocket bike.
Over the years, Justin has been involved in the New Media Industry in one way or another, having been worked with projects or companies such as:
- DreaminginTO (Macromedia Dreamweaver UserGroup in Toronto, now defunct),
- DesignFest ‘05 (planned and executed a 1 day event for local web designers and other creative types),
- and Macromedia (beta-tested many popular web design/application development tools)
He’s spoken at a number of conferences and Macromedia Usergroup meetings about various topics, primarily CSS, Flash and ColdFusion. He feels he has been very fortunate in his ability to understand technology, how it works, and how to leverage it to create interesting and engaging websites and applications.
To round his professional accomplishments and career highlights, Justin was interviewed by Defrost, has written articles for CommunityMX, and once shook hands with the infamous Kevin Lynch.
